The East Coast of Barbados faces the Atlantic and the water here is characterised by its big Atlantic waves perfect for surfing. Whilst most of this coast is better suited to sunbathing and amazing walks there are some beautiful spots where the waves spill over the reefs and create natural plunge pools. Due to the nature of the landscape and the waves in this area there are several spots where picnicking is very popular. This is also the perfect part of Barbados for bit of beach combing.
Popular areas on the East Cost of Barbados include Cattlewash which is good for picnics and ‘The Soup Bowl’ which is very popular with surfers.
