Having undergone a $10 million refurbishment and extension, Mangobay Barbados has re-opened with great reviews. This project that has resulted in 12 additional suites as well as extensive enhancements throughout the resort. Among the new accommodations are two 1,200 sq. ft. Penthouse Suites and ten new Deluxe Suites.
This charming boutique hotel is ideal for those seeking the convenience of an all-inclusive vacation combined with the personal and friendly service of a small resort. It enjoys a sought-after beachfront setting in St. James, on the famous west coast of Barbados. The restaurants and boutiques of fashionable Holetown are just steps away, while golf is readily available on nearby championship courses, Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland. The capital, Bridgetown, is a 25 minute drive away, Grantley Adams International Airport is a 40 minute drive away.
The swimming pool has been retiled with a blue glass mosaic tile and the pool deck has been tiled from the lobby to the beachfront. The restaurant has been completely refurnished and the flooring retiled and is now partially enclosed providing the option of both indoor and outdoor dining.
Mango Bay has also added a boardwalk stretching the breadth of the property along the popular beachfront. The boardwalk adds additional lounge space for relaxing and tanning along the beach and additional seating for deck dining at the restaurant.
And finally, the entrance has been completely transformed to provide a new driveway, porte-cochere and lobby. An oval shaped fountain, tiled with a copper glass mosaic and featuring gas-lit copper torches gives the spellbinding appearance of fire floating on water.
The new lobby area features a rich Italian marble floor tile and curves out into two wings. The left wing houses a new guest lounge which features hardwood floors, a big screen television, computer with Internet access and changing facilities for guests with late departing flights. On the right side of the lobby is the new office space.
All inclusive rates include all meals, afternoon tea, all local and brand name drinks including wine with dinner, nightly entertainment. Water sports included are waterskiing, sunfish sailing, kayaking and snorkeling. Also included are sightseeing excursions include a glass-bottom boat trip, a shopping excursion into the capital city of Bridgetown and a catamaran trip.
ACCOMMODATION:(ALL GUEST ROOMS ARE NON-SMOKING)
STANDARD ROOMS - Garden View 2 twin beds or one king- size bed - The Standard block of rooms are adjacent to 1st and 2nd Streets in Holetown where a number of restaurants and bars are located. As such, they are susceptible to noise when there is activity in the streets.
SUPERIOR ROOMS - Pool and garden view - 2 twin beds or one king- size bed
All Superior and Standard Rooms have been completely refurbished and feature new bathroom fittings.
DELUXE ROOMS: pool and garden views
There are 10 new Deluxe Rooms located along the new top floor and southwest corner of the main building. These accommodations are 500 sq. ft. in size and offer views of the pool and gardens. What differentiate the Deluxe Rooms from Superior Rooms are the fittings and amenities. These new rooms feature rich wooden four-poster beds, bedside tables, armoires and writing desks. The bathrooms have six-foot tubs, new waterfall shower heads and Avonite counter tops.
OCEANFRONT ROOMS:
All the rooms have 2 twin beds or one king- size bed, bathroom, radio and in-room safe. Oceanfront Rooms have been upgraded to include the same furniture as the new Deluxe Rooms and have the advantage of the views of the Caribbean Sea.
PENTHOUSE SUITES:
The two Ocean Front Penthouse Suites are 1,200 sq. ft. in size. Each unit is glass enclosed on two sides affording a majestic view of the Caribbean Sea and the West Coast. These extraordinary suites feature two 42-inch Plasma televisions, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. There is a full wet bar at the entrance to each suite and a fully furnished living area and patio. On the patio of each suite is a private jetted plunge pool. The spacious bedroom opens out directly into the living room and patio for a luxury sweeping flow-through design. The bathroom features a deep soaking tub and a separate stall shower complete with a waterfall shower head. There are dual toilet facilities in the suites and extra closet space.
DINING:
The cuisine and sparkling wines on offer are very good.
There's buffet or table d'hote dining each evening in the Hotel's beachfront dining room. Lunch and dinner reservations are required on a daily basis and gentlemen are required to wear trousers at dinner.

Daytime - Resort Casual ? Cover-ups are required for breakfast and lunch. Footwear is required in the restaurant at all times.
Evening - Elegantly Casual - Full length trousers and shirts with sleeves (either short sleeves or long sleeves) are required for gentlemen for dinner.
After 6:00pm, no jeans/denim wear, three-quarter length trousers, shorts or cargo trousers, trainers/sneakers, flip-flops, caps, t-shirts allowed in the restaurant (applies to ladies and gents).
**Exception - Friday is BBQ night ? Smart shorts (no cargos) and ¾ length trousers are allowed.**
Holetown Lagoon:
Please note that on rare occasions, after excessive rainfall, the Holetown Lagoon, adjacent to the hotel, overflows into the sea. When this happens and the beach is closed for more than 48 hours, weather permitting, arrangements will be made to transfer guests to an alternate beach that has not been affected
